Environmental & Public Health International Announces Commitment through the Zero Hunger Private Sector Pledge

Chicago, Illinois – November 23, 2025
Environmental & Public Health International (EPHI), a United Nations Environment Programme recognized leader in climate-resilient drinking water infrastructure planning and public water supply training, has made a formal commitment under the Zero Hunger Private Sector Pledge to support global efforts that advance food security, improve nutrition, and reinforce climate action across food and water systems in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 2.

Strengthening Community Level Outcomes and Climate Resilience

Through this pledge, EPHI commits to supporting efforts that reduce hunger, strengthen essential services, and improve community-level outcomes in regions where food insecurity and malnutrition remain most severe. These actions also contribute to climate resilience by supporting communities whose food and water systems are increasingly affected by climate-related risks.

Mobilizing Private Sector Action for Sustainable and Climate Resilient Food Systems

The Zero Hunger Private Sector Pledge is an important global mechanism that mobilizes private sector engagement in priority areas identified by governments and international partners. By channeling investments and expertise toward country driven needs, the Pledge strengthens efforts to build sustainable and climate resilient food systems and accelerate progress toward internationally agreed development goals, including Sustainable Development Goal 2 on ending hunger and improving nutrition.

“The Zero Hunger Private Sector Pledge plays a critical role in aligning investments and partnerships that advance food security, nutrition, and climate resilient development. We are proud to support country level priorities that accelerate progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 2,” stated Anthony Ross, Director of Environmental & Public Health International.

Zero Hunger Coalition Coordinates Global Efforts to End Hunger

The Zero Hunger Coalition, which oversees the broader platform, brings together governments, civil society, international organizations, and the private sector to coordinate action and strengthen global collaboration. It provides technical guidance, promotes country led solutions, and supports alignment with the outcomes of the UN Food Systems Summit, including efforts that reinforce climate resilient approaches to food security.
