Environmental & Public Health International Named a Partner in UN Climate Champions’ Race to Resilience
Partnership positions EPHI’s drinking water infrastructure focus within equitable climate resilience in support of the Paris Agreement.
Press Release
Chicago, Illinois – January 14, 2026
Environmental & Public Health International® (EPHI) announced that it has been named a Partner in the UN Climate Champions’ Race to Resilience, a global campaign mobilizing non-state actors to advance climate adaptation and resilience in support of the Paris Agreement.
The designation follows formal acceptance by the UN Climate High-Level Champions and places EPHI among Race to Resilience Partners working across more than 160 countries to strengthen resilience for vulnerable communities.
Partner status places EPHI within the campaign’s implementation architecture, positioning its climate-resilient drinking water infrastructure work as a core component of equitable climate resilience supporting the Paris Agreement.
Climate-Resilient Drinking Water Infrastructure and Implementation Tools
EPHI’s contribution to the Race to Resilience is centered on the Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator® (LSLRCC), a free, multilingual, publicly accessible tool that enables municipalities, Tribal governments, and water utilities to estimate and model the full costs of replacing lead service lines.
The LSLRCC supports transparent, data-driven infrastructure planning by strengthening drinking water system resilience in the face of climate-related stress and infrastructure degradation.
Supporting United Nations Climate and Adaptation Platforms and Environmental Justice
The LSLRCC is listed on multiple United Nations platforms, including the Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement (PATPA), the United Nations Environment Programme, UNESCO, and the UN Global Compact Water Action Hub, as a resource supporting climate-resilient drinking water systems, sub-national planning, and implementation-focused adaptation linked to the Sustainable Development Goals.
“Race to Resilience matters because it shifts climate action from commitments to delivery, with a clear focus on protecting vulnerable communities,” said Anthony Ross, Founder of Environmental & Public Health International. “It recognizes that effective climate adaptation depends on implementation, equity, and resilient systems.”
Equitable Climate Resilience and the Race to Resilience Agenda
Through its participation in the Race to Resilience, EPHI contributes an implementation-focused approach to climate adaptation that prioritizes equity, transparency, and system-level resilience.
By lowering economic and technical barriers to climate-resilient infrastructure planning, this work supports efforts to strengthen resilience for vulnerable and underserved communities in line with the campaign’s goal of protecting four billion people by 2030.
