Press Release
Chicago, Illinois – July 22, 2026
Environmental & Public Health International® (EPHI) today announced that its Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator® (LSLRCC) received official recognition as part of World Environment Day 2026 from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
The recognition highlights the calculator’s contribution to lead service line replacement planning, climate-resilient drinking water infrastructure, and public health.

Official World Environment Day 2026 Recognition
The LSLRCC is a free multilingual online planning tool that helps Tribal governments, state primacy agencies, local governments, and public water systems estimate lead service line replacement costs using locally customized project data.
World Environment Day, organized by the United Nations Environment Programme, is the world’s largest platform for environmental action.
“We are honored to receive official World Environment Day 2026 recognition from the United Nations Environment Programme, which reinforces our commitment to protecting public health through practical, data-driven drinking water infrastructure planning,” said Anthony Ross, Founder and Director of Environmental & Public Health International.
Supporting Lead Service Line Replacement Planning
The LSLRCC helps organizations estimate project costs using locally customized information, including labor, materials, excavation, restoration, administrative expenses, contingency planning, and post-replacement activities.
Since its launch in April 2025, the LSLRCC has been used to estimate more than $3 billion in lead service line replacement costs based on anonymized usage data.
The tool supports planning efforts associated with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI), the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), and State Revolving Fund (SRF) programs.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Sponsorship opportunities for the Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator® (LSLRCC) are available to mission-aligned public, private, and nonprofit organizations. Additional information is available on the LSLRCC Sponsorship page.
