EPHI Advances UN Environmental Priorities Through UNEA 7 Engagement and Global Plastics Hub Contribution
EPHI expands global access to climate resilient drinking water tools and supports stakeholder preparation for the 2027 SDG review.
Press Release
Chicago, Illinois – December 9, 2025
Environmental & Public Health International® (EPHI) announced key contributions to global environmental action through participation in the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA 7), its engagement in the 2027 SDG Review consultation, and the inclusion of its Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator® (LSLRCC) within the UNEP Global Plastics Hub.
Participation in the Seventh Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly
EPHI joined Member States, UN entities, and Global Partnership on Plastic Pollution and Marine Litter partners in the UNEA 7 session on the Global Plastics Hub. The dialogue highlighted the Hub as the UN system’s digital platform for data, policy resources, and collaboration across the plastics lifecycle, and emphasized opportunities to strengthen evidence-based decision making, partnerships, and co-creation supported by emerging technologies.
UNEP Global Plastics Hub Inclusion of the Climate Adaptive Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator
EPHI’s Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator is now featured as a climate-adaptive technical resource within the UNEP Global Plastics Hub, the UN system’s central platform for integrated data, knowledge, and tools addressing plastic pollution and related environmental challenges.
Its inclusion expands global access to a transparent, multilingual resource that helps governments, utilities, Indigenous Peoples, and local communities plan lead service line replacement strategies that strengthen climate-resilient drinking water systems.
The tool also reduces pollution risks to people and ecosystems and supports progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
“UNEA reminds us that meaningful environmental progress is only possible when every stakeholder is heard. The shared leadership of governments, Indigenous Peoples, civil society, local communities, and scientific partners strengthens global action and advances lasting change,” said Anthony Ross, Director of Environmental & Public Health International.
