Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator Featured on United Nations South South Galaxy Platform in Support of UNEA 7 and the 2030 Agenda

Chicago, Illinois – December 11, 2025
Environmental & Public Health International® (EPHI) announced the inclusion of its Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator® (LSLRCC) in the United Nations South South Galaxy platform. The listing aligns with EPHI’s engagement in the preparatory process for the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA 7) and supports global efforts to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Supporting a Global Community of Practice

South South Galaxy, facilitated by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), serves as a global community of practice linking institutions and practitioners across the Global South. The platform promotes cooperation through curated resources, technical tools, and peer learning that support progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Linked to UNEA 7 Engagement

The listing of the LSLRCC on the platform complements EPHI’s recent contribution to the UNEA 7 stakeholder consultation. Together, these efforts reinforce a commitment to inclusive and collaborative approaches that advance environmental governance and improve public health outcomes.

Strengthening Safe Drinking Water and Climate Resilient Infrastructure

The LSLRCC has supported the modeling of more than three billion dollars in lead service line replacement projects since April 2025 based on aggregated analytics. As a free, multilingual tool, it assists municipalities, Tribal governments, utilities, and partners in planning replacement programs, identifying funding pathways, and improving long term drinking water resilience.

The tool advances Sustainable Development Goals 3, 6, 10, 11, and 13 by integrating environmental health with climate adaptive infrastructure planning.

“South South Galaxy plays a critical role in advancing the SDGs by fostering collaboration and improving access to practical resources that support environmental health and resilience,” said Anthony Ross, Founder of Environmental & Public Health International.

Aligned with United Nations Commitments

EPHI’s engagement across United Nations platforms reflects its support for cooperative initiatives that strengthen environmental governance, expand access to safe drinking water, and improve public health outcomes. The South South Galaxy listing contributes to collective global efforts to advance implementation of the SDGs.
