Press Release
Chicago, Illinois – December 12, 2025
Environmental & Public Health International® (EPHI) announced its formal contribution to the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA 7). The organization submitted targeted recommendations to the Stakeholder Forum emphasizing the need for transparent, accountable, and equitable digital and AI-enabled systems in environmental governance.
EPHI has also joined the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Global Alliance on AI for Industry and Manufacturing, known as the AIM Global Community. The platform brings together innovators, policymakers, and development partners to advance responsible AI and support sustainable industrial transformation.
Together, these actions reinforce EPHI’s role in promoting the responsible use of artificial intelligence for public benefit. By contributing to global governance discussions and participating in a leading UN AI initiative, EPHI is helping shape emerging digital systems that strengthen environmental decision making, improve access to safe, climate resilient drinking water systems, and accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Advancing Digital Governance and Equity at UNEA 7
EPHI submitted formal recommendations to the Stakeholder Forum for the Pocket Guide to Environment and Sustainable Development Governance, which informs UNEA 7 deliberations and supports member states in strengthening governance for the 2030 Agenda.
EPHI’s input emphasized the need for transparent, accountable, and inclusive digital and AI-enabled systems. The organization underscored how responsible digital tools can expand access to environmental information, improve scientific capacity, and support equitable participation in decision making.
Advancing International Cooperation on Responsible AI
EPHI joined the AIM Global Community, a UNIDO-led alliance that brings together governments, industry leaders, academic institutions, and development partners to advance responsible and inclusive uses of artificial intelligence that support sustainable industrial development.
Through the AIM Global Community, EPHI contributes to international cooperation on digital readiness, policy development, and innovation that advance environmental protection and equitable access to technology. Participation in the alliance strengthens EPHI’s efforts to develop public interest digital tools that improve environmental decision making, expand access to climate adaptive safe drinking water infrastructure, and support frontline communities.
“EPHI is honored to contribute to the UNEA 7 process and to join the AIM Global Community,” said Anthony Ross, Director of Environmental & Public Health International. “These engagements underscore the essential role of responsible and inclusive artificial intelligence in strengthening environmental governance, advancing climate adaptation efforts, and ensuring that communities everywhere have access to safe and resilient drinking water systems.”
Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and AIM Global Recognition
EPHI’s work directly supports the SDGs, including Clean Water, Good Health, Sustainable Cities, Climate Action, and Reduced Inequalities. Its efforts reflect a sustained dedication to global cooperation and improved public health.
EPHI’s Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator® (LSLRCC) is also featured within the AIM Global Community, underscoring the importance of public interest digital tools in advancing equitable and climate resilient drinking water systems worldwide.
